Phoebe has been working at Bannermans since July 2021. Prior to joining Bannermans, she worked for numerous roles ranging from in-house lawyer to solicitor in private practices specialising in areas including residential and commercial conveyancing, property acquisition and disposal, property development project works and leasing.

Since joining Bannermans, Phoebe has worked in both the strata team and the Building and Construction team undertaking the following work:

Strata

• Advising on and drafting by-laws for owners corporations and individuals;
• Advising on strata subdivision, conversion of company title to strata title, by-laws for strata and community scheme;
• Preparing amendments to community management statement;
• Negotiating and advising on grant of rights of use or development of lots or common property such as easements, licensing and leasing;
• Negotiating and preparing Access Licence Deed; and
• Advising on unauthorised works, repair and maintenance responsibilities under the relevant legislative framework.

Building and Construction

• Advising owners corporations on building defects, insurance claims, legal remedies, relevant limitations periods and current issues such as combustible cladding;
• Drafting applications for building defect claims in the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal;
• Briefing and engaging with technical building experts such as consultant specialists, surveyors and engineers; and
• Review and advising on building contracts for individuals, builders and owners corporations.
