What happens if you have a dispute about someone claiming an invasion of their privacy because a camera is facing into their lot?

Posted 27 February 2025

Category:

It is important to check whether the camera can actually record the insider of the owner’s property when they open the door. If yes, then it is likely that it will be an invasion of that lot owner’s privacy. The camera needs to be removed or relocated. Even if the camera does not record the inside
of the apartment, it is still possible that the camera will unreasonably interfere with the lot owner’s use and enjoyment of their property or the common property.

It is also possible to check with the technician of the camera to find out whether they can redact the area that covers the lot owner’s property on the camera and negotiate with the lot owner whether they will agree to this solution.
